Two or three sentences will be enough but remember to use some of the new adjectives we've learned! Follow the instructions in the student's book, Unit 5, Write.

Sorry, I don't have the book at home so I can't tell you the exact page number but PLEASE, if any of you reads this and has the book, complete the missing information for the rest of the class.

You should post this before Friday 27th, so that I can check it and you write the final task (e-mail) for the following week.

You should HAND IN the final version (remember the template) BEFORE THURSDAY JULY 3rd.

One more thing! Have you read Taste? Don't forget we'll be discussing it on Monday so it's essential to read it at home by that date.

Taste and other Tales

As I've already told you, this term we will be reading some short stories by Roald Dahl. The three stories are from the book Taste and other Tales.

I leave you the schedule so that you can organize yourselves for home-reading:

  • Taste: Monday, 23rd June

  • The Leg of Lamb: Monday, 30th June

  • The Way up to Heaven: Monday, 7th July

The objective of home-reading is to get the general idea of the story (plot), don't worry if you don't know the meaning of a word or expression, you can ask in class or look it up in a dictionary later. I leave you a very useful on-line dictionary!

Pay special attention to the main characters, you will have to describe them!

Good luck with these thrillers,

See you, Jimena

Hi, this time I'm using our blog to present the material we'll be reading this term.

Taste and other tales, by Roald Dahl

Contemporary / British English
In this collection of Roald Dahl's finest stories we meet some quite ordinary people who behave in extraordinary ways. There is a man who is sure he can hear plants scream and the wife who discovers a perfect way to get rid of her husband. And there's a woman who finds an unusual use for a leg of lamb...
Soon I'll tell you which stories you have to read and the corresponding dates.
See you tomorrow, Jimena

Writing Unit 3
Horse riding

Horse riding it´s an original and different sport. It´s practise in the sand or in the grass, and there are often competitions.
This sport is a good way to get on with animals (horses.) It´s sometimes recomended to sick people to open their mind and it also helps people thinking how to solve their problems. Horse riding is a good option to families who want to share something because it might be practise by everyone, since very little children to grandmother or grandfather.
However there are negative points too. It´s a dangerous aport, although you wear a helmet. You can fell down of the horse and have an injurie. Moreover it´s an expensive sport and you can only practise it in some special places.
I think it´s important to relax and don´t be scared because in that case you could produce an accident and you couldn´t enjoy this beautiful sport.
